When companies hire someone to be a electrician who are licensed and qualified worker training comes up in the company where QW'S are trained in the field the electricians don't have to attend. They are required to sit for the classroom training only. Is this standard practice in the work areas ?

Hard to answer that without more details, I assume you are refering to the 70E training for a qualified worker?

Typically electricians are never trained on arc flash hazards as part of thier licensing. Not anything detailed or practical anyways, so good they are attending the classroom portion. The hands on training is usually task specific, things like proper use of a meter, racking breakers, etc... if the electrician has experience doing those tasks I could see letting them skip the hands on portion, but again, would need more specific info and that call is determined by your company, not OSHA, 70E, or Zog. :)
