I am about to graduate with an associates degree in electrical technology, I will be entering the field as a first year apprentice. I will be applying for a job at the same time as my other classmates, so I am looking for ways that i can differ myself from the rest of the pack. I was wondering if anyone knew of any free online courses that i could take to gain more knowledge about different things in the field. We learned a good amount in school but I am trying to focus on some of the more important things, I have already taken a couple courses on the Siemens website that have helped, but I have been unable to find any others. Any help would be appreciated, Thank You.

Forget everything you were just taught. Are you looking to work in the field as an electrician? If so find your local trade school and get enrolled in thier apprentiship program. They should help you find a good contractor to work for.

Your schooling should definetly help you break into the field. At this point there isn't going to be a lot else you can do to help differentiate yourself besides just agressively job hunting. If there are local schools, union or what not, I would check into those. For personal learning the Mike Holt website is really good. Has practice tests and code information. This forum is a excellent source of knowledge. Reading the posts with a codebook in hand really helps me learn.

A resume' is your work histroy!

Can I ask what else is in your resume, point being what can you put on there to put yourself apart?
Self study is not really a resume stuffer. (MO)
You can show that in the interests.

I'd really recommend a complete study of the different resume' types.
Fresh out of school should look different than years of various experience.

This might well make the difference, since there really about 5 different types + - of resumes,
What would make you - be apart, it'll probably be a combination of two types as I did.

Be sure to call ahead to get correct salutations, and call back when you get a bullet letter
or even if they don't bother to send one.

How's your phone edicate? How are you over-all ?

Hopefully, You've heard rumors of the area employers and you will direct your mail accordingly!.

FWIW many major manufactures do have studies "on-line" the assortment
can be as various as one's interests!

Good Luck, in your persuits!
