I?m installing a 30 amp. 120/240v, 6 circuit, manual transfer switch in a residential home. Some of the circuits the transfer switch will be feeding are the rooms listed in 210.12 (B) 2008 NEC. Do the circuit breakers in the transfer switch need to be Arc-Fault protected? I would say yes, but would appreciate any help.

Here in NJ not required for existing dwellings( rehab code) only required for additions and change of dwelling foot print for rooms listed in 210.12 (B)
