I am working on a University project comprised of Labs and a clean room.
The building is fully sprinkled and is new construction.
The question arose concerning the Feeders to the Automatic Transfer Switches, Life Safety and Non-Life Safety.
I know that the LS ATS's have to be in a 2-hour Fire Rated enclosure.
Do the feeders, both Emergency and Normal have to be fire rated?
I have read over Article 700 and 701 and cannot find any reference

Simon,

Since you mentioned that the building is fully sprinkled, 700.10 (Emergency Systems) seems to eliminate the need for the fire rated room or feeders.

If they are 701 loads (Legally required standby), then 701.10 says you could even cohabitate with non-legally required loads.
