Hello, I am under the understanding that the transformer efficancy codes are more for the manufactures, than they are for the electricians..... I am working on a job where in order to save money and costs we have purchased a used transformer, that does not meet the new energy standards, the customer knows that it is a used transformer and i am not selling it as a new transformer, do you think this will be a problem when it comes to inspection?

If you are refering to the TP-1 standards transformer manufactures were mandated after a given date to manufacture transformers to that standard but were allowed to sell the exisitng stock manufactured prior to that date.
As such you have an exisitng transformer that was manufactured prior to that date and there is no regulation to prevent you from using it.

I would however be sure to conduct all the tests on a used transformer before putting it in service. TTR, IR/DAR, winding resistance, etc...
