450.27 says a fire-resistant barrier or space separations can be used. Is there anywhere that specifies if the barrier needs to be 1-hr, 2-hr, etc.?
Also, what dictates space separation? I know IEEE 979 and Factory Mutual have recommended space separation from buildings. FM also has separation requirements from the transformer to other equipment, but it looks like the NEC is only concerned with combustible material/building, fire escapes, door, and windows, and not other equipment.
