Transformers rated 50kva or less is acceptable to be installed above a lay-in ceiling, correct. The way I read 450.13 and 300.22(C)(2) it seems acceptable however there seems to have been a lot of debate on this topic. Does the xfmr. Have to have a specific rating for installations for above a lay-in ceiling? I believe as long as you comply with 450.13 and 450.21(A) it is acceptable, a ventilated xfmr. Less than 50Kva.
