transformer installation

Recently I observed a 45kva transformer installed in the ceiling of an office suite. Everything about this installation seemed correct except for the hard piping to the primary. I have never seen a transformer installed without the use of flex. I searched my code books and was unable to come up with any information about this being a violation. Can anyone offer some information? Thanks

Re: transformer installation

While flex is a common method to supply a transformer it is not required to be done with flex.

I have used FMC, LFMC, EMT, RMC even wireway.

The worst thing about using non-flexible methods is the transmission of noise.

Re: transformer installation

Thanks "iwire" for your info. I guess I was under the impression that vibration would be a concern and therefore warrant the use of flex. Perhaps that has always been for the noise factor then, instead of the possible loosening of the pipe run. Thanks again
