Transformer: Location and Clearance Requirements

This is regarding a 30 kVA dry-type transformer that needs to me installed in a small retail store in Honolulu, Hawaii. As per the NEC, can a transformer be installed in the restroom? What are the clearance requirements for a transformer, both floor mounted and ceiling mounted. Thank you.

They can go anywhere that meets the normal workspace requirements. Under 50kva can go in "hollow spaces" so above the ceiling is fine.

Just follow the transformer manufacturers clearances, typically 6" or 12" from the wall to provide proper ventilation.
