Fpl transformer in vault keeps burning up . What can be some of the reasons why this is happening . The secondary on transformer keeps going out.

Try disconnecting some loads.

First I would check the MBJ. It is highly possible, if the MBJ is missing or there are loose connections, you will find it there.

whats happening is i fed of a existing 400 amp lighting outside main disconnect double tapping of lugs to feed a 3phase panel square d PANEL. THEN I ENERGIZED 2 RERIGERATION UNITS WITH 100 AMP QOB BREAKER THIS IS TEMPORARY FEED UNTIL MY SERVICE IS UP .

First I would check the MBJ. It is highly possible, if the MBJ is missing or there are loose connections, you will find it there.

I don't think a missing or loose MBJ could harm the transformer.

Call a testing company, this is what they do. www.netaworld.org Click to find one in your area, they all have transformer gurus on staff and all the test equipment needed to figure out your problem. There is no way anyone can answer your question without much more info and some test results.

Before doing that, insist that FPL get their power quality people to put some testing equipment out there. Their testing should be free and something is causing them a lot of extra work. What is the possibility of harmonics causing the problem? Is this an office building?

Well if its a florida power transformer and it keeps burning up i can tell you this something is missing from this picture? FPL doesnt just burn up transformers everyday and if it did the first time FPL would have sent a crew out with engineer to find out why real fast . But lets say iam wrong in that assumption you might have overloaded that rating or kva of that transformer by adding your loads and if your not telling FPL that its a load issue they will never know why ? But you not going to burn up more than one transformer here with florida power i know ! just thinking best to yas
