Dennis Alwon Moderator Staff member Location Chapel Hill, NC Occupation Retired Electrical Contractor Mar 18, 2015 #2 This would depend on whether you want to leave room for expansion. I believe a transformer is rated at 100% so you can get by with the 15kva unit

They should have a cut sheet that says minimum circuit amps and MOCP along with other characteristics, e.g. starting info. Most likely you will need at least a 30KVA. There is no such thing as a 20KVA standard size anyway.
