Customer wants to install 480V 3 phase automatic welding machine With 60 amp load. Incoming power is 208/120 3 phase. My thoughts were to reverse feed a 45 kva.480v / 208-120 v step down transformer. Will this work and is it sized correctly?

short answer: "yes". The transformer would need to be suitable for reverse hook-up and due to the nature of the load, I would suggest discussion with a transformer supplier or engineer. Welding loads can present some unique problems
