I would like to wall mount a 3 phase 145kva transformer that weights 990lbs. Are there any NEC requirements that would prohibit such an installation (I can not find one).

I plan to provide some type of uni-strut support if approved by an structural engineer.

No, the NEC does not prohibit that.

Check with the manufacturer, many times they can supply wall brackets assuming your wall can take that kind of load.

You are just asking is strut is ok. I ASSUME that the transformer is to be installed in a fire resistant room transformer room (450.21(B), size over 112.5 kva), and the MFR states it is ok to mount to a wall. ( Note: Not trying to be a stick in the mud, but most of the large transformers I've installed have a MFR's info which states install must be X given distance from a wall to allow for cooling. (450.9) )
