I dont do alot of this type of work but I know what I saw today was wrong, this is an existing installation by the way....
Someone ran a 10-2 NM from a 120/240v single phase panel to a 5kva 120/240v transformer, fused at 30 amps, (ground wire cut off at both ends) L1 tied into H1,H3 L2 tied into H2,H4. They ran about 10 branch circuits out of the transformers L1: X1,X3 L2: X2,X4 terminals. the branch circuits leaving the transformer had all the grounds made up to a GEC going to a seperate ground rod driven outside, all I can think of is that they wanted IG receptacles for computers, this was a residental property converted to a lawyers office.
