I plan to run a 2" underground PVC conduit to a 4" square sign pole. The pole probably cannot accommodate both power and telecom conduits so i am thinking of making a transition from 2" to 1" PVC stub-up at the footing. Will this be a code violation or cause any issue? Thank you.

No violation but will make pulling hard going into 1”.

1” pvc on metal sign post = damage to pvc. A lawn mower hitting the pvc will cause damage.

Use RMC. Sch 80 is better than Sch 40.

I think it's actually a plumbing fitting but I've seen it used and allowed..it makes the wire pull easier

Thank you. Yeah. I think I will go with PVC coated RGS for the stub up.
