Re: travel jobs?

Have you tried one of those online job search engines? I'm sure you will find something there. If you want to travel, head to the Gulf Coast region. There will be plenty of work from Florida to Texas for the next 10 years or so.

PS - turn off your caps lock

Re: travel jobs?

I think you will find people want more than 5 weeks of training.

Best bet is to get into some kind of apprenticeship program union or otherwise, and learn the trade that way.

Re: travel jobs?

Thats funny, I would do anything not to travel. I agree, when you travel you are on your own and 5 weeks of training probally wont cut it, get some field experience first and please turn off your CAPS LOCK!

Re: travel jobs?

Your timing is great, there are jobs out there but good luck getting into the field with limited experience as anything other than an apprentice. (Nothing wrong with that)I have worked in four industrial mills in the last 10 years or so, all of them reqiring a minimum four years experience or a 2 year tech school completion with some experience.
However, people have been hired on two of those jobsites when those folks with those qualifications could not be found. The new employee was put on as temporary with a chance to be moved up if they were found to be competent.
www.Electricalknowledge.com has some employment links that might help.
I agree with previous posts about the Texas Louisana, Mississippi, Alabama coasts being wide open for years.
Be patient, my daughter arrived in a small town in Alabama to help with the relief effort through Red Cross yesterday. There is still no Federal Aide there. No water, no power, food, no medical supplies. They're not quite ready for contractors!
