Ok, I am helping take-off a job. The HVAC portion is very heavy and has conduit from the motors and MCC's up to the tray. Would tray cable be the best option? Would there be an less expensive option? It is allowed per the spec.

Individual conductors are allowed in cable tray as long as they are CT rated. I would think they would be less expensive to buy but may take longer to install than tray cable with 3 or more conductors. Also I would think tray cable may be a long lead item.
