Tray cable

I have a customer that wants to run VNTC copper tray cable from his house service to his boat dock. Yes this wire is rated for direct burial. He has 2 Nema-3 breaker panels on each side of his meter. The distance is 250 feet and I am not sure what table to use for the % voltage drop calculation. The manufacturer gave me a really high amperage rating, much higher that table 310.16 allows. For instance 70amps for #8 copper. Can anyone help me determine the appropriate size wire using 60 amps as the potential load?

I would suggest you go to Mike's Free stuff and download the Voltage Drop calculator

You can plug in various numbers (actual load, maximum load, etc) and determine what size conductor you would like to use.
The wire size will be the same for any wiring method.
