My 3.5 HP motor treadmill - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0D1VBWRSK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
i was told it has a high inrush current therefore a Tripp surge protector would not be advisable, nor would using a GFCI outlet nor even a surge protector device on my circuit box. I am not electricity literate and have no idea how to protect my treadmill and home from fire/power surges. Really hope for some direction here. thanks so much!

Anytime I hear “someone told me”, I question that. Try a surge suppressor, it should work. A GFCI will provide additional protection, but some times GFCI and surge protection don’t play well together
You can get a plug in GFCI or hire an electrician to install one
