Loose connections. Oxidation of aluminum connections. Burned out lamp bases. Burning breakers. Contaminated bussing. Large motor loads or coils (i.e.- microwaves, refrigerators, etc.). Bulb ready to burn out. Defective light switch. Penetration of conductor by foreign object (i.e.- nail, etc.). Arcing. The list goes on...
