Trough In Lieu Of Conduit

Anyone know why they would run wireway( about 100') in lieu of conduit? Never seen this before.

Seen it plenty of times. Usually in areas where changes are frequent. Assembly line drops were the most frequent I've done.

If I’m not mistaken it looks that the EGC may 1/2 the size it should be. Looks to me like it should be #3 based on 250.122.

What size fuses are in the 400 amp disconnect switch? #3/0 is only good for 200 amps.

I noticed thag after posting, and wondered what was going on. The panel is protected at 200 amps and wire is sized for 200 amps but without 200 amp fuses in the 400 amp disconnect it of course violates tap rules.

Is DDP-15A a fused disconnect or a distribution panel?

I guess it doesn't specify what feeder/branch breaker should it be a distribution panel but I initially thought the DDP maybe was some code meaning distribution panel.

4 x 4 wire way doesn't leave you a lot of room to make taps or give sufficient bending space to enter sides with other than rather small taps.

Of course if this run is already a tap, you can't tap it again. And a 100 feet long tap would only be allowed for outside taps.
