Can anyone post a link to a thread about truck set-ups, nice work rigs, etc. I think it was on here a couple months ago.

I Have an A R E 1/2ton truck cap on my 2006 Chevy 4/door both brand new, now 3 years old( I haul kids as much as service calls) I' very happy.
The only problem I have had it that blew/out/cut two OEM tires on service call on a new gravel road WWWAY out in BFE.
They are made of aluminum( don't need a3/4 ton just for the box).
Custom order wait time 2-weeks or so
Made as you like it
Prices start at $1500 then add $100 for add-on options(window-racks- doors- paint -etc )
Be sure to add the Extra heavy duty ladder rack I also made a custom pack-rat style bed slider box (rarely-used). I found some indutrial conveyor rollers, cut them to size then added a plywood for a drawer.DENNIS

Compared to my 98 Jeep? This is heaven ;) I'd get one in a heartbeat considering the mileage it gets. Van choice in the US is limited to one size at this point and this is just what the doctor ordered. If you really need large, get a Dodge Sprinter (...really a Mercedes) since you can stand up in the thing and walk around without bending over. As far as I'm concerned, the days of the traditional American van are over.

The one thing I personally do not like about vans is that you are always on your knees inside, and the floor usually is covered with other materials. I have been using a 16' enclosed trailer for the past 5 years with floor to ceiling shelves and a workbench. For service work a van is fine, but for larger jobs the trailer has worked out better for us. Downside to the trailer is that parking is sometimes an issue. I have seen the Sprinter vans and they appear to be the better of both worlds. I like to be able to stand up inside. heh, how about an old bread truck (step van) ?
