Anyone have any thoughts on the ABB/Zenith TruOne ATS? Is it as good or better than their conventional models like their ZTE, or ASCO's 300, 4000 or 7000.

Concerned tighter integration means more difficult to debug and service. Replacement parts harder to find. Possibly planned obsolescence.

You may be right with that last statement!
I have been working with Zenith Controls since 1974 and have been A Zenith ASS ! (Authorized Service Station!) since I went on my own in 1988. I have not worked with the new ABB/ Zen TruOne unit, browsed the owners manual, so can't directly comment. But I back up the older designs ZTS, ZTB, etc. with the older relay logic and MX controllers on the newer models. As long as the PM is not neglected. The MX controllers are getting harder to buy but are still avail thru ABB.
Cutler Hammer/ Eaton that bought Westinghouse yrs ago went to a newer modular design on their DS breakers that I'm not crazy about. Their shunt trip modules would jam and burn up all the time. So if the TruOne follows suit I would steer clear. ASCO may be a better choice in the long run based on parts availability and reputation. And not to mention they are the largest ATS mfg in the world. But both make a good switch and are not going away soon ;).
(PS: Who do you work for? I may know you. Send me a PM)
