tstat wires

Hey guys went to hook up a duquenese? gas heater today with a 3ft appliance cord. Didnt see my usual wires for 120v standing by themselves. What I did see was tstat wires hooked to what appeared to be my leads. Hooked my 120v wires to my leads and tstat wires. Is there any reason why the tstat wires would or should be tied to my leads? Told boss to have ac crew come and double check thier wiring. What am I missing thanks

yes but thats our weakness. Were both rope slingers and pipe runners. However in my looking at it I got the impression the ac guy should have taken the wires to his termination board instead of jumping off of our wires

Does this heater meet the requirements of 400.7(A)(8)?

possible line voltage tstat? but i would still think it should go to the termination strip
