Can we put a tv outlet on stone wood burning fireplace ? Fire code. 1” air space ? 2” air space?

I have put many outlets above a wood burning fireplace. I rough them in and leave the box for the mason to fix in place. This is all outside the firebox.

If the stone isn't cut flat, I suggest building out a flat surface out near the front of the stone so you can mount the t.v.
