Have to confirm that TW cable listed for 55 amps can be landed on a 60 amp breaker using the next size up rule for none standard breakers.
Thanks,
Fran

TW is the cable run in the 60's between the meter socket disconnect and the fuse panel. Replacing it with 90 amp ser 2-2-2-4. Replacing small 50 amp breaker enclosure with 100 amp enclosure. Some runs will have part TW cable till it is time to rehab those units. Can't land #2 AL in 50 amp breaker lug.

Francis, there is a rule that allows a #6 tw wire to be installed under a 60 amp breaker as long as the calculated load is less than or equal to 55 amps. Volta gave the article number

#2 aluminum, in your install can be wired to a 80 amp breaker as long as the calculated load is not more than 75 amps.

I think I am missing your meaning here---

As with Dennis, I may be missing the point, but if the major issue here is landing a #2 Al on a 50 amp breaker, if the lugs won;t accept the wire you can look into "pins" that reduce the size for termination or you can splice in a short section of wire that will fit as long as that section has the ampacity of the breaker.
This problem is often encountered when wire sizes are increased for voltage drop.
