I was recently in the 1999 & 2005 code books. I was looking up area sq.in. of a #14 THW wire in both books and found them to be different. In the 1999 book a #14 THW area sq.in. = .0209. In the 2005 code book #14 THW area sq.in. = .0139. THHW #14 wires are also different size. But TW wire is the same. First I thought the TW insulation changed. Does anyone know why the #'s change?
