I thought that I read or was told that a twistlock receptacle and cord cap was required when flexible cord was used with HID lighting(high or low bays). I looked in article 410.30 and didn't see any mention of it. Could someone enlighten me? Thanks

Check 410.30(C)(1)(2)c

I know when you order your high bays pre-whipped, they'll come with twist locks. I'd hardly call it a requirement, however. Mayve a good idea in locations subject to high vibrations.

I don't believe that a 'twist-lok' is a requirement.
If you read 410.30(C)(1)(2)c, it refrences 604.6(C) which tells us receptacles and connector must be of the locking type. Or am I missing something?

Article 604 is for manufactured wiring systems. Stuff like Reloc, etc.

Maybe a locking receptacle is a redundant anti-falling measure.

I would think so. Also keeps someone from unplugging the fixture and plugging in an extension cord or some other device.
