two hot circuits on a 3-way switch

I want to use a single 3-way switch in a non-standard fashion to control my attic ventilator fan. The common terminal goes to the fan. The two Traveler terminals as follows: One terminal has the hot feed from the attic ventilator fan thermostat, the other terminal has a regular hot feed. The purpose of the switch is that, most of the time it would be set to use the terminal from the thermostat in a normal operation. Infrequently, if I need to test the operation of the fan, I can simply flip the switch.
I confident this will work as planned, but I have some concerns about two hot leads on the travelers.
Thanks,
Steve
