I have a design for a 800A building service meter and a 600A fire pump service meter. The fire pump main disconnect/meter compartment is sized for locked rotor while the cabling is sized for only 125%. This gives a combined total of about 950A, hence I figure this is a 1000A underground pull section where the utility PG&E in this case will require (3) 5"C. I see no reason to size the pull section by adding 800A+600A.
Does anyone agree or disagree with this 1000A conclusion? I am a little concerned that some obscure code text somewhere will say otherwise.
