Two Twisted Pairs

OK, I have installed in my house two twisted pairs, I know cause I did it and
I also ran another phone line of the second pair, years ago.

My question is how in-expensive is it to turn the second line into a house intercom
or even get the second handset to ring with-in the house?

About a hundred bucks for a cordless phone which can do both.

Correct, and there are also lots of corded phones available that include an intercom. Check out Staples or Office Max.

We have two lines in the house, and we call either one from the other for inetrcom use.

Oh, and no - you're not crazy. I am designing my new network to have a few IP phones on it as well. [money permitting]
