Type 1 SPD Fault

The house is in a remote location without ready access to electricians. My understanding is the house suffered a near lighting strike a while back and subsequently an APT TE XDS Type 1 SPD was placed at the main box. (not sure if these details were correct). Newer house to me and now the device is flashing a service indicator. Getting an electrician out to look at it is a chore. Before I find someone, any thoughts as to what is amiss? Or basic troubleshooting?

SPDs often will sacrifice themselves in the line of duty, so the flashing LED is letting you know that your soldier is dead and needs a replacement.
