Type 1 SPDs

Is there a concern with using type 1 SPDs without violating 110.14A? Are there terminal expanders that are acceptable without compromising the listing of the main lug?

Not that I have seen. Perhaps a polaris tap? However, does the SPD require OCPD?

Type 1 can be installed on the line side, but I'm wondering about a small wire from the SPD and a 4/0 alum being under the same lug of a breaker. Wouldn't the lug need to be listed for 2 wires?

They need to be identified for such use. 2020 NEC 110.14(A)
