I read this as the associated fittings shall be listed for use on LFMC. I'm working on OEM Furnace and Conveyor Machinery, (motors and solenoids...) is generic LFMC Type-EF okay or does NEC require the Liquid-Tight Flexible Metallic Conduit to be UL Listed TYPE-LA or UA?

The NEC for field installation requires listed LFMC. What you're using it for (a listed piece of machinery) does not fall under the NEC.

As Infinity stated, what you use to wire OEM equipment is covered under your UL Procedure and per UL508. The NEC only covers the wiring to your equipment.

Okay, but my equipment can be 300 ft long with overhead wireway and conduit runs, trenching and underfloor conduits leading to control rooms and separate blower rooms for 600hp quench fans with remote panels. At what point is considered to be field wire routing. Does then LFMC need to be UL-listed?

I doubt the kind of equipment he is talking about is listed. IMO, the wiring done in the field between pieces of factory manufactured equipment should be NEC compliant.

As for whether parts within the factory assemblies have to be UL listed, that is a complex question, especially with an assembly that is not UL listed.

If you are a manufacturer of such assemblies, it would be wise to find a standard that you can follow, either an existing generally accepted standard like NFPA79, or something else you can defend in court and with local inspectors when they question why you do something.

Personally, I would not be using LFMC for much of anything within the factory built assemblies for the application you are describing.

I would be using cord where appropriate or LFNC.
