I am curious as to what is some of the preferred methods for installing outside receptacle when vinyl siding is already existing. Surfaced mounted boxes with an in use cover is not very appealing.

Do you have to remove siding to install these or can you cut out opening in siding and mount over existing siding ?

I have used Arlington before and like them. Usually Installed before siding goes up. I now have someone wanting outside receptacle
installed and vinyl siding is already installed. I have seen plenty of vinyl siding installed but have never really messed with it myself. The issue being how would you install the boxes 4 or 5 rows up? Do you have to remove several rows?

Usually, only the one or two pieces you'll be cutting. Tin snips and a razor knife should do it.

You can find videos about cutting openings in siding. A siding tool can be helpful:

I also think Arlington is the best and most electrical supply houses have them in stock. The one thing about Mid-America is that it can be ordered in colors that you can get close to the color of the siding on the house already without painting. This is more for a job where you have some lead time to order the stuff.
