type TC cable use

on an overhead crane a manufacturer used type tc cable to connect the motors to the controllers by running this cable along the catwalk with a 65' length. Isn't there a 6' limit to flexible cords and what about physical protection?? manufacturer sited 610.11(c) as authorization to use this multiconductor cable. Please help...

Article 336 covers provisions of of Type TC or tray cable. There is no length limit to Type TC. 336.10(6), shows supports for the cable shall not exceed 6' when installed under the conditions as listed in that section. I think the installation you have described is compliant with that.
