just trying to get a feel from anyone else who cares to talk about it
in arkansas, type TC (tray cable) is WIDELY used in residential work in place of Service Entrance cable, and actually in place of romex in any size larger than #4
its used for panel feeders, services before and after 1st point of disconnect, all kinds of stuff
my understanding is that it is not permitted anywhere BUT in a cable tray, or underground as part of a cable tray installation.
but for some strange reason, even though it is ALOT harder to pull, bend and strip, or properly identify the conductors, (numbered instead of color coded) it is very widely used
it is actually cheaper than SER cable.. about a dollar a foot for 2/0
does anyone else see this happening? having the same problems with it that i am ?
