UF-B 8/3 in conduit on 50A Circuit

I had an electrician install 2 separate 50 amp circuits yesterday. I was surprised when he finished and he said he used copper UF-B 8/3 cable for both circuits. There is 1.25" conduit underground for both circuits. Is this a code violation? We use NEC 2014 in SD, I think. Here are the 2 circuits:

1: 50A Circuit for a large Dimension One Hot Tub. Around 125' buried in 1.25" conduit to disconnect box (used UF-B 8/3), then 25' to tub with last 10 feet in conduit on top of concrete to get to other side of tub (used UF-B 6/3 for this part).

2: 50A Circuit to garage for a NEMA 14-50 outlet for an electric car. This could be a continuous 40A load for 10-12 hours depending on the vehicle. 50' of UF-B 8/3 buried underground in new conduit to garage.

Please advise what I should do. Thanks for your help!

No. I found the name of a local inspector this morning, but I haven't contacted him yet.

I haven't contacted an inspector.

That is what you really need to do.
