Ok, I'm doing this massive outdoor grill area (not a kitchen ;) )
it all stone walls with spaces for frig, gas grill, rotisory oven.
I have a couple GFIs and some outdoor under cab lights....
we had to make PVC raceways to get around and into areas... I'm using
UF cable as wire.
I just noticed that where the gas grill will be sitting I have UF cable running behind it 3" away..
Should I be concerned about the heat?
It seems close to me... This grill is super expensive and top quality but it still is going to get real hot.

ANY THOUGHTS???

You could mount a thermally conductive heat shield that extends outside the heated area, located between (but not touching) grill and UF.
Or a combination of heat shield and insulation.

I would say do something, think of it this way...... we've probably all seen somewhere where someone puts there grill to close to vinyl siding and it warps/burns/etc......same thing will happen to your pvc and UF.

Three inches is a bit close, it's true, but my grill is less than a foot away from the siding (not vinyl) and I have checked the temperature of the siding while I am grilling many times. It has never been more than just a little warm. I keep a fire extinguisher close by just in case.
