UF on a Hot Tub?

I have a collegue who installed 6-3 w/g UF cable under siding J-channel, about 80 feet to a Hot tub disconnect, then from there he protected it with liquid tight flex to underground, then from underground it entered the hot tub. A home inspector is critizizing it. Is there a code saying you cannot run UF for hot tubs, or un protected without conduit along a house.

To my knowledge I thought UF was similar, hence similar, to SE and it could be run on the outside of a dwelling without protection.

I'm thinking 680.25(B), But I don't think a home inspector would know or catch that.

You cannot use UF cable underground to a hot tub. It is fine if installed on the building and is protected from damage but it cannot be used underground to the tub. It must be in conduit underground. I also believe if there is a light in the tub then it needs to be in conduit all the way to the panel with an insulated grounding conductor.Art 680.42 takes us to part I and Part II of 680

Thanx...He found it in his code, right when i found your reply...much thanx

we had an inspector make usreplace a romexcable in a building that was feeding switches that controlled the lights in the pool. we had to fish an MC cable across a finished basement
