Can we bond the ufer ground conductor directly to underground water pipe, and from water pipe to service equipmet.
Thanks

Here's a good graphic from mike:

Yes, as has been pointed out. Just make sure the bonding jumpers are sized accordingly. For example, if you're permitted to use a #6 cu GEC to the rebar and then you go to the water which requires, say, #4, you'll be in violation because the water pipe bonding jumper would be reduced to an unacceptable size.

under what conditions could the size of the bonding jumpers be reduced (i.e from water line to ufer, or to rebar or to structural) ? also noted in the picture that mechanical clamps are used on water line, and continuing to another electrode. our local AHJ likes to all be connected together with weld or non reversable (compression sleeve)

Only the part that that connects only a rod/plate electrode.

our local AHJ likes to all be connected together with weld or non reversable (compression sleeve)
How would you non-reversibly connect to a water pipe?

The size of the GEC is determined by what you are connecting it to, based on 250.66, IE a CEE only requires a 4 AWG max.
What your local AHJ "likes" is not a code requirement. Show him/her the Mike Holt graphic.

That inspector must be citing a local code or his own interpretation of what he thinks the NEC says. The graphic is correct. What he's "asking" for is not required.

I like using compression or Cadweld connectors also, but: I wind up using what was ordered and sent. Just make sure that the clamps that you do use are rated for the purpose i.e. direct burial.
