A home builder friend of mine told me he had a warranty issue because the fastener from a metal window well was in contact with rebar in the foundation wall. I guess it started to rust the metal. He got ahold of the mfg. people, & they told him it is an issue in several parts of the country. Any of you folks ever hear of this? If so, is there a fix?
Thanks, Ron

This should have been posted in the 'Window and Door' forum.

Ron, what do you think the ufer has to do with your friends problem?

I don't know. I've never heard of this before. Dissimilar metals? The mfg. is Monarch. My friend told me their rep. "measured current" on this window well. Don't know how. I'll get more info if I can. Seems it would be a total fluke that a fastener would hit rebar in a concrete wall & cause a problem.

You would this without a ufer present at the premise.

That is odd, where was his reference point???
