I have a client that is installing an inside wading pool. This pool has a VERY fancy glass atrium above. The problem is there are 4 Panels on the other side. I am thinking of having the EC install concrete encased feeders 24" under the wading pool foundation. (Cheaper than going around, and they dont want any UG junction boxes.)

Any thought/comments?

In DD stage now but issuing CD set by end of month (hopefully) lol. Same ol Same ol. No backgrounds, but wants CD in 3 to 4 weeks.

Here is the article

680.10 Underground Wiring Location. Underground wiring shall not be permitted under the pool or within the area extending 1.5 m (5 ft) horizontally from the inside wall of the pool unless this wiring is necessary to supply pool equipment permitted by this article. Where space limitations prevent wiring
from being routed a distance 1.5 m (5 ft) or more from the pool, such wiring shall be permitted where installed in complete raceway systems of rigid metal conduit, intermediate metal conduit, or a nonmetallic raceway system. All metal conduit shall be corrosion resistant and suitable for the location. The minimum
cover depth shall be as given in Table 680.10.

I was pretty sure there was an article that pretty much prohibited it being directly below the pool.

Interesting enough though is the possibility that if you installed these conductors at a great enough distance below the pool (I don't know what that distance is) they may be considered safer than being at the minimum horizontal distance away from the pool. Just my $.02 worth.

Thats kinda what I thought. They are existing feeders, that I was going to have intercepted and lowered. 15000 HP motors are easier IMO. But, a paycheck is a paycheck.
