There seems to be a great deal of confusion about this standard.
Prior to this fairly new 2108 standard, the only standard that applied to outdoor low voltage lighting systems was UL 1838.
From what I've gathered, the new UL 2108 standard is primarily aimed at indoor lighting systems and allows up to 30V. If the system is installed outdoors (wet location), I believe the limitation is 15 volts (like UL 1838).
I say there's confusion because several manufacturers of low voltage outdoor lighting transformers are claiming they comply with UL 2108 - despite the fact that their transformers have voltage taps up to 30 volts.
Can anyone provide carity on this?
