UL Listing for Federal Pacific Panels

I am a home inspector and I have come across a number of Federal Pacific panels in the course of conducting inspections. Are they listed with the UL? If they are not, should I report them as a possible hazard? I know that they are known for not tripping, as a matter of fact, I found a metal grid in a kitchen ceiling that was energized because of a nicked wire in the romex connector on a flourescent fixture. Any ideas?

Some are...some are not.

It seems the people at FPE "fudged" some UL tests to get them labeled.

IMHO, based on that FACT...I would categorically fail them all.

If you use the SEARCH feature above, you will see that there have been a few discussions on the FPE issue.

In NJ, there is/was a class action lawsuit against FPE.
