We are manufacturing a 24VDC electric vehicle from maneuvering general aviation aircraft in and around hangers. This is not a ride on vehicle if it matters. We have a UL approved battery charger that is a stand-alone purchased component and currently connects to our product via a polarity controlled connector. It has been suggested by some prospective customers that we mount the charger to the vehicle for ease of use and lack of clutter. We have avoided doing this, thinking that mounting anything requiring AC power would in turn require UL approval as an assembly.

The charger has an input range of 100 -240 VAC and comes with a 6" stubbed cord and male shielded plug which will then accept a variety of 42" cables based on the country the charger will be used in. To mount this charger, we would fasten it via pre-existing mounting flanges and holes on the charger and securing the male shielded plug of the 6" supply cable to the vehicle to which the end user would attach their country specific power cord to and then connect to the grid.

Any insight about the UL rules in a case of this nature would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
