I have a lighting contactor that is dual rated 125A UL/CSA and 95 A IEC. The contactor will be protected by a 100 A circuit breaker. I'm in the U.S., so the UL rating rules the day here so I should be OK, correct? Why is the IEC amp rating so much lower? The UL/IEC disparity seems to be universal with the various models in the catalogue. Thanks.

UL and IEC have different methods of calculating values. Some differences are: heat rise of terminations, inductance of load, and switching cycle. One method is not better than the other and in fact may not even represent 'real world' applications.
