looking at this timer from intermatic GM40AVE-RD89, The unit says its UL listed,is it ok that a operator can just push the plastic tang to remove the front cover,no tools needed? I dont care for plastic too much. But it seems the way the world is going.

it would be in a commercial application. I thought tools were needed to access live terminals. could you mention a few of the other examples.

Thank you jraef, that said this timer will be intended for a commercial production machine. The timer is UL listed and the manufacturer states in there instructions commercial/industrial. So would it be ok.

Thats a good point Jumper. This is a manufacturing plant, The machine makes the product.Does NFPA79 cover that as well ?

I found this,

The GM40AVE Series Time Controls are universal, electronic time switches designed for general
purpose commercial applications. The control operates on any AC voltage from 120 VAC to 277 VAC.
The mechanism is mounted in an indoor/outdoor enclosure and has been designed for the control of
lighting, heating, air conditioning, pumps, motors, or general electrical circuits in residential,
commercial, industrial and agricultural facilities.
