UL508A Industrial Control Panel - Aluminum Backplate Need to be UL Listed?

Hello,

I work in a UL508A panel shop and I'm looking at substituting a Stahlin brand back panel (https://www.stateelectric.com/products/stahlin-bp108al/) with a laser-cut aluminum back panel with pre-cut screw holes from an aluminum fabricator. I can't find anything in the UL508A standard that addresses back panels. Does anyone know if a back panel must be UL Listed?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Is the panel made by Stahlin?
From what I know of UL 508A, all your parts need to be in your procedure

That is only sort of true.

I looked yesterday. Ul508a does not actually say one way or the other. My guess what s that it is considered mechanical in nature thus does not need to be listed. But why anyone would want to use aluminum for such a thing escapes me.

The back panel would be made out of generic sheet aluminum from a local aluminum fabricator and would be made of identical 3003 H14 Aluminum.
