"General"? Do you mean general contractor?

Although I know, and have worked with, some knowledgeable GCs in the past, I don't take electrical advice from them - I give it to them. Especially "advice" like this.
What kind of "lamp cord" are we talking about?

I'm curious as to why so many people call these under counter lights and not under cabinet lights? Don't they go above the counter and under the cabinet?

My General want me to use 14 lamp wire for the under counter lights stubbed out of the wall from the box. I have always used nm in the past.

DONT do it...it will be a good way to burn down the house in about 5 years...and this day in age, the insurance man might come looking for you, as well as the sherif

While looking for an image to use above, I stumbled upon this one:

rocky_and_bullwinkle_radio.jpg

What's neat about it is that the schematic is an actual crystal-radio circuit.

No They go under the counter....with no switch....so they just open the cabinet door to turn on the light, then shut it, and the light goes out...just like the frig

You cant run lamp wire in a wall........ does the colonel ugh I mean the Gereral have his electrical license? and why are you listening to him? If the luminare is line voltage how are you planning to ground it? If it is low voltage you still need to put it in some kind of conduit unless the insulation is rated to be in a wall by itself....
